The EP kicks off with the title track “The Lesser Key Of Solomon,” sweeping and solemn synths swirling up from the ether around militant, defiant drums. “Ars Goetia” follows with a seething energy mingling with bleeping sine waves before “Ars Theurgia-Goetia” roars to life with thunderous drums, a sinister synth dirge and a colorful, kaleidoscopic broken beat breakdown. The first half of the EP resolves with the hypnotic and arpeggiating “Ars Paulina,” laced with ASMR-like whispering and conjurations. “Ars Almadel” is ripe with colorful panning phantom atmospheres and delays anchored by funky bass, before giving way to the industrial ripper “Ars Notoria.” “The General Curse” is the grounded by intricate rhythms, punctuated with spectral stabs, all building up to the EP’s closing “The License To Depart,” equal parts stomping and jubilant, a fitting coda, the adjournment of archaic proceedings in some court chamber where past, present and future collide.
